Kathie and I went for a ride to Woodland last week and stopped to take some pictures of her mother’s birth home. It is on the 1538 E. Lower River Road in Woodland. Her mother died when Edythe was only six months old. Her father, Franklin Johnson couldn’t take care of the children, so they were given over to relatives to raise. Franklin lived here for a while and then sold the home. Edythe went to live with her Aunt Epsy Jane George at her home.
We met the lady that just bought the home. She invited us to come back in a year when she’s finished remodeling. She will give us a tour of the home.
