I’ve found my dad’s military documents. They are here attached. Dad was called up after Pearl Harbor, but after the physical it was discovered that he had very serious hay fever. That disqualified him for service in World War II. Our lives would have been much different had he actually had to serve during the War. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the Artillery of the United States Army. There is a very good chance that he could have been killed or injured. My very existence could possibly have not come to pass, at least in this family, had he died before I was conceived.
